THESIS XII

PART ONE — THE PORTFOLIO

The consolidation has reached the communities the industry once ignored.

An independent queer platform became part of the largest dating portfolio.

HER was founded in 2013 as Dattch by Robyn Exton, built for queer women and non-binary users who had been treated as an afterthought by the mainstream products, and grew to a reported thirteen to fifteen million registered members. Match Group announced its acquisition on 20 May 2025; financial terms were not disclosed. Exton remained and stated that the team, the values and the community focus would not change. On r/actuallesbians the immediate popular response was instruction on how to request deletion of one's data.
